Organize Your Closet Space!

Luxury living at the Lake of the Ozarks can be more than just the home itself … it can definitely house the closet of your dreams!

Closets don’t have to be just a space for hanging your clothes. Your closet can be a beautiful, organized space to showcase your wardrobe, shoes, and accessories!

Have to share your closet … no worries! There are plenty of ideas to make closet sharing a harmonious experience – even if one has more “stuff” than the other!

Lack of closet space can cause unexpected stress and can be a source of contention when deciding whose things are most important. Creating a custom closet space specifically designed for each other’s needs can help keep the peace and reduce the level of stress!

TAKE INVENTORY:

Before you begin your closet design, take inventory of what you have, and streamline if necessary. This is a good time of the year to donate those items that are rarely used or worn.

Individual spaces can vary as some need more hanging space, while others need drawers and shelves for folded items.

DOUBLE HANG & SHELVING:

Double hanging space is the perfect way to maximize your closet. You can hang pants and skirts on the bottom level while utilizing the space above for hanging shirts and jackets.

Drawers and shelving are perfect for folded items such as T-shirts and shorts.

SHOE STORAGE:

Shoe storage might be the most important use of space. Shoes, boots, slippers, and flip-flops have a knack for ending up in all sorts of places when adequate storage isn’t available.

Shelves can help, but sometimes there are too many shoes to fill those spaces. Racks or large shelves that slide or turn away could be a lifesaver for this particular problem. Shelves are ideal for storing shoes but if there are too many to house, it may not be possible to install enough shelves in the closet to handle them all. However, there are floor-to-ceiling spinning shelving systems designed specifically for shoes that turn on a Lazy Susan like mechanism. These units can be installed in a corner and can hold up to 200 pairs of shoes — many more than could otherwise fit in your space.

SPACE TO STORE:

If you are fortunate enough to have a large walk-in closet, you can place furniture items in there for storage and clear your bedroom space for lounging and relaxing. Where a dresser might take up space, you can place a lamp and chair for reading.

You can install a center island in your closet space for storing smaller items such as ties, scarves, and even jewelry.

You can turn your closet space into a dressing area complete with a bench and full-length mirror. You can top the space off with a beautiful chandelier so you can dress for success in style in your luxury closet in your luxury home!

There really is no end to what you can make of your closet space, whether you have a large room to deal with, or a small space to make the best of.

Luxury living at the Lake of the Ozarks is our specialty, and we can place you in the home of your dreams, complete with your very own luxury closet!
